SENIOR PASTOR
DR. MELVIN WOFFORD
Reverend Dr. Melvin M. Wofford, Sr.
Senior Pastor § Community Change Agent
Dr. Wofford has been lauded as a progressive, committed, innovative, and a generational bridge-
builder.
He has been particularly called a bridge builder between generations. His transparent style of leadership allows him to connect with individuals from all stages of life.
In 2021, he achieved his Doctor of Ministry degree from Chicago Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois.
Currently, Dr. Wofford is an Adjunct Professor at Regent University’s Department of Counseling
and Psychology. Dr. Wofford has been happily married to Sharlay “Lady Lay” Wofford for fifteen years--serving together in love, family, ministry, and the community.
Together they partner in parenting four loving and supportive children - Shailyn, Dafour, Melvin,
Jr. and Skylar.

FIRST LADY
SHARLAY "LADY LAY" WOFFORD
Worshipper, Mentor, Servant and Relatable
are the words that aptly describes this mighty woman of
God. Sharlay Wofford, affectionately known as “Lady
Lay” is a gift to her husband’s ministry and the people of
God.
Lady Lay earned her bachelor’s degree in Human
Resources from the University of Phoenix and shortly
after, obtained her master’s degree in Human Service
Counseling from Liberty University.
Like her education, Lady Lay’s ministry is focused on
developing and empowering people. To further her
service to the people of her community, she serves as a
proud member of the Suffolk Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she is dedicated to the constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary
focus on the Black community.
Lady Lay joined in marriage to Dr. Melvin Wofford on October 28, 2008, and since then, her posture has been to provide support, compassion, and advocacy to his ministry. Together they
parent four children: Shailyn, DaJour, Melvin Jr., and Skylar.
Lady Lay is undoubtedly dedicated to her family, community and church. She will put her hands to work when needed-there is no task too trivial or beneath her. Yet, she gently radiates
leadership through her actions of love and quick response to help others.
